I grew up in both Aotearoa New Zealand (Ōtautahi Christchurch) and Canada (Halifax). Since then, Philosophy has taken me to Cambridge, South Bend, Bonn, and now the Boston area. I sound pretty North American, but I feel most like a Kiwi. My parents' bach in Wānaka is where I feel most at home.
When I'm not philosophizing (and sometimes when I am), I love to be outdoors hiking/tramping, running, climbing, skiing etc.
I also enjoy reading fiction, and will happily spend an entire weekend in the company of a good book. Most recently, I've been devouring the Wheel of Time series, savouring Ken Liu's The Paper Menagerie collection, and re-reading Jane Austen (always).
(Below: a small selection of hiking photos taken in New Zealand, Argentina, and Italy, and a climbing photo taken in New Hampshire, USA)
